We have several different breeds of chickens. Mainly, because we just like them. We like to get different colored eggs and someday maybe we will be able to raise meat chickens as well. At this time we haven't been able to cross that line.
We have crested creme legbars, light brahams and showgirl chickens. We get several home grown barn yard specialties as a hen or two always seem to find a shed or corner that we haven't checked in awhile and go broody on us. We also have some old english bantams just for the fun of their spunky personalities. We have a few others that have, one way or another, found their way to our home…and so we have ended up with a few different kinds of chickens as well.
We have guineas in our menagerie that patrol for ticks all day long. We ended up with french, white, pearl, lavender and pied. So cute right now. But not for long. Can't wait to see how they will all turn out.
